The Museum offers the perfect venue for a conference or reception. The events team can tailor a package to suit your needs - anything from a full conference in the lecture theatre, to a small drinks party in the main court.
A reception in the Museum
The lecture theatre seats 296 and is well equipped with audio and visual equipment. Specific requirements should be discussed with the Administrator's Assistant when booking.
The first floor gallery overlooks the ground floor central court on all four sides. It can be hired with the lecture theatre and can be used to display exhibitors' stands and poster displays. The gallery is ideal for tea and coffee breaks, and for buffet lunches. Because of roof restoration work throughout 2013 the views from the gallery will be very restricted, so will only be a practical space for refreshments. From 2014 it will provide an unusual location for a seated dinners for up to 100 people, with pre-dinner drinks in the court amongst the dinosaurs.
During 2013 the court will not be available while restoration work is done on the glass roof. Otherwise, the centre of the ground floor court area provides an unusual venue for receptions. The carpeted central area can accommodate over 300 people for buffet receptions or drinks evenings. The high glass roof of the centre court provides the perfect acoustic environment for a live musical accompaniment to the evening.
The Museum has a specially designated annexe for food preparation. We request that you use our recommended caterers for all your requirements, from tea and coffee breaks to drinks receptions and buffets.
