Life

The Life Collections comprise an internationally renowned entomological collection of five million specimens, and zoological collections that include the most complete remains of a dodo in the world, and crabs collected by Charles Darwin on his voyage on The Beagle.

Our new unified database is a work in progress: please search and browse our butterfly and moth type collections. For other Life Collections databases, including birds, mammals, extinct and endangered material, and type entomological material, please visit our main Museum website.
