| Comments: | Corsi says that he has followed Borch's 'Lythologie Sicilienne' (1778) in attributing names and quarry locations to his Sicilian soft jaspers, but not all his locations are mentioned by Borch, nor do descriptions always match. Fiume San Carlo is now known as the Fiume Verdura (River Verdura) and runs northwards from Torre Verdura on the Agrigento coast. The village of San Carlo lies on the Verdura (at this point known as the Sosio) in the Province of Palermo, a few miles south of Giuliano. |
