Name and quarry location: Colombino roseo dell'Elba, from Punta Pina, island of Elba, Livorno, Tuscany, Italy  
Geological description: Pink micritic limestone, altered to yellow where it is crossed by two generations of calcite-filled fractures. It has disseminated black manganese oxides and pyrite.  
Comments: The veined flesh-pink and grey marble of Punta Pina is described by Zuccagni-Orlandini (1842). The sample in the Pescetto Collection in Rome is very similar to Corsi's.
