Geological description: | Pink micritic limestone, altered to yellow where it is crossed by two generations of calcite-filled fractures. It has disseminated black manganese oxides and pyrite. |
Comments: | The veined flesh-pink and grey marble of Punta Pina is described by Zuccagni-Orlandini (1842). The sample in the Pescetto Collection in Rome is very similar to Corsi's. |
