Name and quarry location: Lumachella orientale, from Henchir Kasbat (the ancient Thuburbo Maius), Tunisia  
Geological description: Fossiliferous biosparite limestone. A lumachelle of rolled, predominantly bivalve debris, recrystallised in part, and with subsidiary other skeletal debris.  
Comments: Nos. 228 and 229 are different varieties of this same Mesozoic limestone which was very rare and highly prized by the scalpellini of Rome.
