Corsi 52, approx. 145 x 73 x 40 mm, © Oxford University Museum of Natural History

OUMNH Number: 52
Name and quarry location: Marmo carnagione d'Asti’; probably from Italy, but Asti, in Piedmont, is very doubtful.
Geological description: Limestone from the Upper Cretaceous Scaglia Rossa Formation. A bioturbated biomicrite with planktonic forams and abundant tiny bioclasts.
Comments: The province of Asti in Piedmont, Italy, is highly unlikely to be correct for this pink limestone.
