Geological description: Fine-grained compact gypsum (alabaster) with calcite-filled fractures.  
Comments: From upper Miocene evaporite deposits close to the Marmolaio River, west of Castellina Marittima, Province of Pisa, Tuscany, Italy (Jervis, 1889; 318-9; Dallan, 1969; 36).
