Name and quarry location: Gesso di Iesi, alabastro di Iesi, from Iesi, Ancona, Marches, Italy  
Geological description: Fine-grained compact gypsum (alabaster) - nodular mass, fibrous towards margins.  
Comments: Iesi may be correct. According to Jervis (1889), gypsum has been worked extensively in the Province of Ancona.
