Name and quarry location: Marmo polveroso di Pistoia, from Pistoia, Tuscany, Italy  
Geological description: Micritic limestone with abundant planktonic foraminifera.  
Comments: Pistoia is almost certainly correct. Blagrove (1888) writes: 'This marble [polveroso], which has a black ground sprinkled with small white and grey spots, is quarried at Pistoja, in Tuscany'.
