Name and quarry location: Verde tenero di Corsica, from Corsica, France  
Geological description: Fine-grained quartz (chalcedony) rock, perhaps with relic textures of a granitic rock. Dendritic goethite emanates from the many fractures.  
Comments: The term 'tenero' usually indicates a carbonate rock, but in this case there are no carbonate minerals present.
