Name and quarry location: Pietra del Vesuvio, from Mt. Vesuvius, Naples, Campania, Italy  
Geological description: Volcanic breccia. This slightly altered polygenetic volcaniclastic rock has clasts/tephra which include alkali volcanic types, sediments and possible skarn fragments. It is poorly sorted and structureless, and may be an ignimbrite.
