Name and quarry location: Marmo rosso di Sabina; Sabina, Umbria, Italy is not confirmed as the locality.  
Geological description: A laminated limestone containing bioclasts and peloids (pellet-sized grains) in a sparite matrix.  
Comments: The locality for this stone is not confirmed. Calcarenites (limestones rich in detrital sand-grain sized particles) do occur in the region of Sabina, but no reference has been found to such a red stone as this.
