Name and quarry location: Verde di Corsica mandolato, from near Orezza, Monte San Petrone, Haute-Corse, Corsica, France  
Geological description: Sheared metagabbro, the diopside and actinolite-tremolite both coloured bright green by trace chromium.  
Comments: No.700 (q.v.) is a good example of the most precious Corsican smaragdite. This sample is rather less metamorphosed, and more heavily fractured. Light green areas are coloured wax.
