Geological description: Coarse-grained granite-granodiorite with large pink perthitic megacrysts of potash feldspar. It contains scattered euhedral grains of titanite.
Comments: This stone bears a superficial resemblance to granito violetto (marmor Troadense) see no.819. However it is thought to be from Corsica, a stone that was imported by the Medici during Renaissance times for use in pietre dure work.
