OUMNH Number: 974
Name and quarry location: Quarzo erborizzato dell'Elba, from the island of Elba, Livorno, Tuscany, Italy
Geological description: Calcarenite with some grey shell fragments and grains of a black mineral, perhaps schorl.
Comments: This calcareous stone was mis-classified by Corsi as a sandstone. The locality, Elba, has not been confirmed. All the brown on this specimen is a waxy grain filler not present on the unpolished reverse of the stone.
