Diet: Koalas eat the leaves of eucalytpus trees - they get most of their water from them as well, and only drink water during times of drought.
Other features: Koalas are marsupials like kangaroos - they carry their babies around in a pouch.
Need to know: Many people call koalas 'koala bears' - this is not right! Koalas are marsupials and are not related to bears.
