Statistics for 2008
This year the first swifts were spotted around the Museum tower on 26th April. Details of nesting pairs and their chicks will be updated here through the summer months.

There are 62 boxes occupied and 25 eggs visible. There are 5 naked, blind young.

There are 70 nest boxes occupied, and at least 22 young. We don't disturb sitting birds to count eggs or very young birds.

80 boxes occupied - not all breeding birds.
- 5th July 2008
There are 72 nest boxes occupied, 61 young ringed, 57 young still to be ringed, and at least 5 eggs still to be hatched. 2 adults identified.

There are 70 nest boxes occupied, 72 young ringed, 47 young still to be ringed. 3 adults identified.
- 19th July 2008
50 nest boxes remain occupied, 81 young in tower, 32 young to be ringed. 4 more adults identified. 28 young have fledged.
- 26th July 2008
34 boxes still occupied, 54 young in tower, 12 young to be ringed. 13 more adults identified. 55 young have left the nest.
- 2nd August 2008
21 boxes occupied, 33 young in tower, 4 young to be ringed. 6 more adults identified. 76 young have fledged.
- 9th August 2008
14 boxes occupied, 19 young remaining. All will be gone in 2 weeks.
- 16th August 2008
4 boxes still occupied, 6 young remaining. 5 young ready to fledge.

1 box still occupied, 1 young ready to fledge.

Last swift left. There were 112 young raised this year.
