| Comments: | Although the grain-size and appearance of this pure white marble resembles that of the island of Paros, it is composed of dolomite rather than calcite and most probably comes from the island of Thasos. Corsi’s alternative name Greco duro is used today for Thasian marble and alludes to the fact that dolomite is a slightly harder mineral than calcite.
