OUMNH Number: 12
Name and quarry location: Palombino antico, probably from Turkey, but perhaps from the Apennines of Italy
Geological description: Biosparite limestone with abundant bivalve fragments. It fluoresces yellow strongly under longwave ultraviolet light.
Comments: Palombino antico may be correct although we are informed that it doesn't normally contain macrofossils and is darker in colour. Locality uncertain; if it is the true Palombino, it is possibly from the Apennines of Italy.
