| Geological description: | Sparsely peloidal/intraclastic fine-grained limestone (micrite or microspar) with calcite-filled vugs. The top surface shows the fenestral fabric of a birds-eye limestone. |
| Comments: | Jervis (1889) describes a whitish limestone then used for the production of lime but which had been used for construction in the ancient city of Signia. Limestones from Segni are also referred to by Faramondi et al (1985) in their description of the ornamental and construction materials of Lazio in the Servizio Geologico D'Italia collections. |
