OUMNH Number: 3
Name and quarry location: most probably Pentelic marble, marmo Pentelico, from Mt Pentéli, Attica, Greece
Geological description: Fine-grained calcite marble.
Comments: Most probably correctly identified as Pentelic marble from Mt Pentelikon (Mt Penteli), near Athens, Attica, Greece. As with all white statuary marbles, additional isotope and other tests would be required to confirm the provenance.
