| Comments: | The Verona/Vicenza area, Veneto, Italy is indicated as the provenance by the black number painted on the reverse (see pdf of further information about Verona specimens). It is not from Torbe, where the Upper Cretaceous limestones of the Scaglia Rossa Formation have been quarried, and appears to be a typical rosso Verona most probably from the area of Sant' Ambrogio di Valpolicella, further west. |
