OUMNH Number: 53
Name and quarry location: Marmo carnagione, persichino di Mazzurega, from Mazzurega, near Fumane, Verona, Veneto, Italy
Geological description: Limestone from the Upper Cretaceous Scaglia Rossa Formation. A bioturbated fossiliferous biomicrite with abundant planktonic forams and calcispheres, and with a few stylolites.
Comments: The painted number on the back of the specimen indicates a Verona/Vicenza provenance for this pink limestone (see Verona.pdf for more information). Corsi almost certainly means Mazzurega, in the province of Verona.
