This, based on appearance alone, looks like a typical green aventurine of platy chlorite crystals disseminated in a quartzite. However, as the scratches on the face of the specimen suggest, the colourless crystals in this sample are a softer mineral, calcite. It may be from Corsica, but it could be from a deposit of cipollino marble, from Euboea, Greece or elsewhere. elsewhere.
