Name and quarry location: Agata delle Alpi, from the Alps  
Geological description: Chalcedony (cryptocrystalline quartz) showing local small-scale cloudy agate-banding; heavily fractured, the fractures iron-stained.  
Comments: This stone has so little banding that without very close examination it appears to be plain grey chalcedony.
