OUMNH Number: 927
Name and quarry location: Alabastro a pecorella, from Aïn Tekbalet district, Oran, Algeria, or perhaps alabastro ciliegino, locality unknown.
Geological description: Compact banded travertine composed of white fine-grained calcite, with coarse-grained areas patchily rich in iron oxides, mainly hematite.
Comments: This may be alabastro a pecorella from Algeria, but it has various features which suggest it may be from the same deposit as nos. 925 and 333, alabastro ciliegino, for which the location of the quarries is not known.
