The Museum's research libraries
Archive material in the library
The Museum's research libraries contain books, journals and archives on natural history, particularly on subjects relating to the Museum's collections.
The Hope Library has many older, classic works on natural history as well as being a specialist entomology library. The Arkell Library specialises in Jurassic and Cretaceous geology and palaeontology, and holds some works on general geology. Both libraries are constantly updated with recent publications and newly-acquired archives.
The libraries are open to members of Oxford University and to other researchers by appointment with the librarian.
