Corsi 20, approx. 145 x 73 x 40 mm, © Oxford University Museum of Natural History

OUMNH Number: 20
Name and quarry location: Marmo bianco di Parma, from Parma, Italy (not confirmed)
Geological description: White fine-grained limestone (micrite/micosparite) with abundant tiny bioclasts including calispheres/radiolarians, and with prominent stylolites.
Comments: Jervis (1879) mentions just one locality in the province of Parma, Calestano, for calcareous rocks used for ornamental purposes, a grey marble employed for the columns in the palazzo reale in Parma. Corsi's locality for this specimen is unlikely to be correct.
