Name and quarry location: Alabastro di Civitavecchia, from Civitavecchia, Rome, Lazio, Italy  
Geological description: Breccia of travertine clasts, peloids, algal debris and fine-grained ferruginous detritus in a sparite matrix .  
Comments: Confirmed as Civitavecchia, Lazio, Italy. Other comparable but more hematite-rich examples of 'alabastro' from this locality are in the De Santis collection in Rome. Jervis (1889) lists a number of quarries in his description of Civitavecchia travertine.
