OUMNH Number: 406
Name and quarry location: Breccia di Settebasi fiorito, from Isle of Skyros, Sporades, Central Greece
Geological description: Sheared breccia of fine-grained calcite marble clasts in a hematitic calcareous matrix.
Comments: The stone which Corsi called breccia di Settibasi is the same stone that ancient authors called breccia di Sciro, from the Island of Skyros, Greece. This example is exceptionally strongly sheared and contorted, but the side view is more typical. Compare with no.405.
