Name and quarry location: Rosso di Rosaro, from Rosaro, Verona, Veneto, Italy  
Geological description: Stylolitised nodular biomicrite; a pelagic limestone of the Jurassic Rosso Ammonitico Formation.  
Comments: The painted number on the back of the specimen indicates a Verona/Vicenza provenance for this limestone (see Verona.pdf for more information). Rosaro in Val Pantena may be correct, although this typical rosso Verona is best known from the area of Sant' Ambrogio di Valpolicella.
