OUMNH Number: 510  
Name and quarry location: Pietra paesina, from Florence, Tuscany, Italy; and most probably from the Valdarno  
Geological description: Calcareous marl/marly limestone from the Upper Cretaceous Alberese Formation. Calcite-filled microfractures control extent of iron/manganese colouration. Note the prominent stylolites.  
Comments: A rather weakly coloured form of petra paesina. Mary Porter has correlated this sample with '6g. Argilla verde di Firenze' in Corsi's tabletop of modern marbles in the Natural Histlry Museum, London.
