Name and quarry location: Pietra paesina, from Valdarno, Florence, Tuscany, Italy  
Geological description: Micritic limestone or calcareous marl from the Cretaceous Alberese Formation, showing minor fracture constrained iron-staining, and areas of dendritic manganese oxides.  
Comments: In Corsi's tabletop of modern Italian marbles in the Natural History Museum, London, this stone is labelled 'paesina biancastro erbarezzato dell'Arno'.
