Name and quarry location: Porfido delle Alpi, from the Alps  
Geological description: Porphyry with large phenocrysts of white plagioclase feldspar.  
Comments: Corsi's name 'serpentina' is incorrect; this is one of many porphyries found in the Alps, the exact source is not known.
