Name and quarry location: Granito nero, from between Aswan and Shellal District, Nile Valley, Egypt  
Geological description: Hornblende biotite granite/granodiorite hybrid with white feldspar megacrysts. It is crossed by a pink granite (predominantly potash feldspar) vein.  
Comments: This stone is intermediate between Harrell's variety 'b' and 'a' of the Aswan granites and granodiorites described on his website. It comes from quarries between Aswan and the Shellal district.
