Name and quarry location: Granito nero, from between Aswan and Shellal District, Nile Valley, Egypt  
Geological description: Biotite-bearing granodiorite with a few small pink K-feldsar megacrysts, and a vein of potash feldspar across the corner of the sample.  
Comments: This stone is Harrell's variety 'b' of the Aswan granites and granodiorites described on his website. It is also known as diorite Egiziano and is found in a number of localities between Aswan and the Shellal district.
