Corsi 309, approx. 145 x 73 x 40 mm, © Oxford University Museum of Natural History

OUMNH Number: 309
Name and quarry location: 'Alabastro fiorito', alabastro melleo, locality unknown
Geological description: Compact very finely banded calcite travertine. Some bands have brown ferruginous colouring.
Comments: Corsi's alternative name alabastro melleo alludes to the honey colouring of this stone. It would probably not today be called alabastro fiorito (see Corsi no.301).
