OUMNH Number: 42  
Name and quarry location: Giallo di Verona, Verona yellow, giallo reale, from Torri del Benaco, Verona, Veneto, Italy  
Geological description: Burrowed/nodular bioclast-rich fine-grained limestone (micrite/microsparite) with extensive calcite-filled stylolites. Note that the darker stylolites are coloured by wax filler. It contains rare juvenile ammonoids.  
Comments: Extensive reference to yellow compact limestones from the province of Verona are given by Jervis (1889). Nodular limestones like this were quarried at Torri del Benaco and are today marketed under the name giallo reale.
