Name and quarry location: Verde ranocchia, from Wadi Umm Esh, Eastern Desert, Egypt  
Geological description: Serpentinite; a metamorphosed gabbro; most probably the Wadi Umm Esh/Atalla serpentinite.  
Comments: It is possible that this may be verde ranocchia di Genova from Genoa, Liguria, Italy, a stone very similar in appearance, but the Egyptian provenance is felt to be more likely.
