Name and quarry location: Sicilian jasper, diaspro-agata di Selinunte, from Selinunte, near Marinella, Trapani, Sicily, Italy  
Geological description: Yellow brecciated jasper with chalcedony matrix, faintly agate banded in places with few translucent red/yellow bands. Note crystalline quartz-filled fractures contain layers of ?muscovite crystals.  
Comments: Tata (1772) describes a jasper-agate from Selinunte which has bright yellow clasts, but in an icy clear matrix.
