Name and quarry location: Diaspro di Barga, from Barga, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy  
Geological description: A breccia of brown jaspery fragments in colourless crystalline quartz, in turn surrounded by white chalcedony, voids are filled with yellowish crystalline quartz.  
Comments: From Barga, Tuscany, Italy. Jervis (1881) describes the precise locality, geological context, and the famous use of the Barga jasper in the chapel of the Princes in the Church of San Lorenzo in Florence.
