Name and quarry location: Sicilian jasper, diaspro-agata di Monreale, from Monreale, Palermo, Sicily, Italy  
Geological description: Brecciated brown jasper with matrix and fracture fills of colourless crystalline quartz.  
Comments: From the area around Monreale, south-west of Palermo, Sicily, where, according to Jervis and Tata, many varieties of jasper and agate were obtained.
