| Geological description: | Compact banded calcite travertine; fluoresces yellow-white under longwave uv radiation. |
| Comments: | The base of this specimen shows the undulating external surface of the travertine deposit, suggesting it is not a tartaro cut from encrustations on the walls of an aquaduct or other watercourse. Minissale (2004) gives a useful overview of the travertine deposits of Bagni San Filippo. |
